(SANTA MONICA, CA) – United States Congressman Darrell Issa, who contributed $1.8 million to Rescue California to qualify the recall election, today endorsed Arnold Schwarzenegger for Governor.

“Today, I am asking the people of California to cast a YES vote to recall Gray Davis and to join me in voting to make Arnold Schwarzenegger the next Governor of California,” Issa said. “Arnold Schwarzenegger has demonstrated the spirit and articulated a vision consistent with the values of the 2.15 million California voters who signed petitions demanding the recall of Gray Davis.”

Congressman Issa also directly addressed the impact of Tom McClintock’s candidacy.

“State Senator Tom McClintock’s continued candidacy threatens to undermine the success of the recall election. I want to reach out directly to Senator McClintock’s supporters and appeal to them to join me in voting for Arnold Schwarzenegger. We worked hard together to make this recall a reality. We must be united in these final days to ensure its ultimate success,” stated Issa.
