Bishop E. Lynn Brown and "Sweet" Alice Harris Host "Soboroff For Mayor" Campaign Luncheon and Rally-- Over 400 Community Leaders Attend and Show Their Support!

Los Angeles-- Bishop E. Lynn Brown, Presiding Bishop of the Ninth District of the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and Sweet Alice Harris, Founder and Executive Director of Parents of Watts, along with a multitude of African American religious and community leaders including:

Rev. Dr. Joe L. Gates -- Southern Missionary Baptist Church
Dr. Lloyd Pettit -- Miracle Center Holiness Church
Dr. Willie Sneed -- Pres., National Missionary Baptist Convention of America
Rev. Isam Taylor -- President, Baptist Minister's Conference

announced their support of Steve Soboroff for Mayor of Los Angeles at a major campaign luncheon and rally held Friday, December 15th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Westin Hotel on 5400 W. Century Blvd. in Los Angeles.

Over 400 people attended the luncheon and rally featuring expressions of support, songs of praise and a celebration of the candidacy of Steve Soboroff for the next Mayor of the City of Los Angeles. Mr. Soboroff served as the keynote speaker for this monumental show of support from Los Angeles African American Community. Bishop E. Lynn Brown and Sweet Alice Harris hosted the rally.

According to Bishop Brown, "Steve Soboroff has demonstrated his commitment to serving the needs of the African American Community of Los Angeles and helping our children for more than 20 years. Steve deserves the opportunity to lead our great city into a new millennium where not only African Americans but all people of Los Angeles will be able to participate in a great renaissance of economic, social and cultural development."

Sweet Alice Harris echoed Bishop Brown's feelings and stated, "Steve has worked with me helping the children of Parents of Watts for the last five years. I know in my heart that Steve Soboroff is the right man to be the next Mayor of Los Angeles."
