LOS ANGELES AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ENDORSES MAYOR JIM HAHN

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

LOS ANGELES -- The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, the voice of business in Los Angeles County since 1888, today announced its support for the re-election of Los Angeles Mayor Jim Hahn.

"Mayor Hahn has made bold decisions that have paid dividends for Los Angeles," said Rusty Hammer, President & CEO, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. "He understands the critical connection between safer streets and a strong economy. The LA Area Chamber has worked with Mayor Hahn to fight for more of L.A.'s fair share of federal tax dollars, to increase the city's housing stock, implement business tax reform, and we have worked together to stop the legislative raids from Sacramento on the city's general fund. We look forward to four more years of his leadership."

Hammer announced the endorsement at the Chamber today with board members following their meeting, where they voted to support Mayor Jim Hahn's re-election.

"Mayor Hahn has shown he has what it takes to lead this city," said Chris Martin, Chair of the Board, Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce and CEO, AC Martin Partners, one of L.A.'s most renowned architecture, engineering and urban planning firms. "L.A.'s business climate has improved over the last four years, and Jim Hahn deserves much of the credit -- and a second term as mayor."

"My focus has been on making Los Angeles the safest big city in America, and I'm proud that Los Angeles' business community understands the link between public safety and the economy," Mayor Hahn said.  "I've worked with the Los Angeles Area Chamber on lowering crime, cutting business taxes and training our workforce.  I am proud we will be continuing our partnership over the next four years."

The Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce, with nearly 1,400 members, represents the interests of business in LA County. Founded in 1888, the Chamber promotes a prosperous economy and quality of life in the Los Angeles region.
