HAHN RECEIVES IRONWORKERS ENDORSEMENT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Mayor Jim Hahn today announced that he has received the endorsement of the International Association of Bridge, Structural, and Ornamental Ironworkers Local 433, which represents men and women who are working to build Los Angeles’ infrastructure.

The Ironworkers also provide apprenticeship opportunities at no cost to taxpayers for Los Angeles Unified School District students, young people in foster care, and young people referred from community organizations to learn skills that will help them become eligible for quality jobs.

“Building a strong infrastructure and reaching out to all communities is what the Ironworkers do,” said Local 433 President Robbie Hunter.  “We feel we have a strong partner and leader in these endeavors with Mayor Hahn.  We particularly appreciate his work with us to help give apprenticeship and job opportunities to young people from working class families.”

“I’m proud to have the endorsement of the Ironworkers,” said Mayor Hahn.  “Together, we’re working to provide job training so that Los Angeles residents have the skills they need to succeed in the workplace, and together we’ll work to win this election.”
