HAHN RECEIVES LABORERS’ ENDORSEMENT

Mayor Jim Hahn announced today that he has received the endorsement of the Southern California District Council of Laborers, which represents 23,000 working men and women.

“Mayor Hahn has been a long-time friend of working families and we are proud to support him,” said Laborers’ Local 300 Business Manager Sergio Rascon.  “He has been a real leader for our city, and we appreciate his work to create more jobs, give more working families access to quality housing, and ensure fair and safe workplace conditions.”

“It’s great to have the continued support of Los Angeles’ laborers,” said Mayor Hahn. “Working together we had a great win in 2001 and we’ll do it again in 2005.  I’m proud to have their endorsement.”

The Southern California District Council of Laborers is comprised of Laborers’ Local 300, Laborers’ Local 802 and Laborers’ Local 507.

The Laborers’ join a growing number of labor organizations that are supporting Mayor Hahn’s re-election, including the Service Employees International Union locals in Los Angeles, United Food and Commercial Workers Union Local 770, Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters, the United Firefighters of Los Angeles City and the Southern California Pipe Trades.
