ASSEMBLYMAN RODERICK WRIGHT ENDORSES JIM HAHN
Showing continued strong support in the African American community, Jim Hahn today received the endorsement of Assemblyman Roderick Wright. Wright, who represents South Central Los Angeles, is also the past President of the New Frontier Democratic Club, Vice Chair of the African American Caucus of the California Democratic Party, and Chair of the 48th Assembly District Committee.
"I am proud to support a leader who is a long time friend to many of my constituents in South Central Los Angeles," said Wright. “Jim Hahn will work on the issues that we care about in my community – improving public schools, keeping our streets safe, and bringing more quality jobs to Los Angeles. The fact that he grew up here and went to school here gives him a real understanding of the needs of our neighborhoods. His experience working with Los Angeles residents to get things done makes him the most qualified candidate and my top choice for mayor.”
"I am truly honored to have the support of so many outstanding leaders in the African American community – from Congresswoman Maxine Waters to Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald to Pastor Chip Murray – and now I am proud to have my friend Rod Wright’s support for my campaign," said Hahn. “I have known Rod for many years and look forward to continuing to work with him on the many important issues facing our city.”
Hahn has received numerous endorsements from key organizations and leaders in the African American community including Congresswoman Maxine Waters; Congresswoman Juanita Millender-McDonald; basketball legend and businessman Earvin "Magic" Johnson; Los Angeles County Supervisor Yvonne Brathwaite Burke; Los Angeles City Councilman Nate Holden; Rev. Cecil Murray of First AME Church; Bishop Charles E. Blake of West Angeles Church of God in Christ; Rev. William Epps of Second Baptist Church; Rev. E.V. Hill of Mt.
