HAHN ANNOUNCES ENDORSEMENT BY PIPE TRADES UNION
Los Angeles - Today Hahn announced the endorsement of his campaign by the Southern California Pipe Trades District Council 16 and its affiliated local unions, representing more than 14,000 men and women in Southern California. The Pipe Trades represent pipefitters, steamfitters, sprinkler fitters and other related trades.
"The Southern California Pipe Trades are proud to endorse Jim Hahn in his campaign for Mayor of Los Angeles. His outstanding track record working to make the neighborhoods of Los Angeles a safe place to live and raise a family makes the endorsement of Jim Hahn a very easy decision for the men and women we represent," said Sid Stolper, Business Manager of District Council 16.
"On behalf of myself and the 12 local unions we represent, let me say that we are strongly committed to this campaign, and will work hard in the months ahead to see that our friend Jim Hahn is elected L.A.'s next Mayor," added Stolper.
"I am extremely honored to have the endorsement of the hard working men and women of the Pipe Trades. We share the same goals -- to make this a strong community, with good jobs and good schools. Working together, we will win this campaign and have the opportunity to meet the challenges ahead," said Hahn.
The endorsement by the Pipe Trades continues to build momentum for the Hahn campaign heading into the fall. In addition to the Pipe Trades, Hahn has also received the endorsement of the Carpenters Union, Operating Engineers Local 501, and Laborers' Local 802. Also, according to the most recent campaign disclosure statements, Hahn raised more than $1 million in the last six months, significantly outraising his opponents, and has more cash on hand than any of his opponents heading in the fall.
